¹ In the beginning, when God created the heavens and the earth,

² the earth was a formless wasteland, and darkness covered the abyss, while a mighty wind swept over the waters.

1.	No princípio, Deus criou os céus e a terra.
2.	A terra estava informe e vazia; as trevas cobriam o abismo e o Espírito de Deus pairava sobre as águas.
